The government is inviting tourism ministers of 40 countries to participate in the inauguration of Visit Nepal Year, 2020.

Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Yogesh Bhattarai, said that tourism ministers of 40 countries have been invited to participate in the inauguration of the campaign. Minister Bhattarai shared this information at the ‘VNY 2020 Preparation Meet’ organised by Province 3 government’s Ministry of Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment in Lalitpur.

“Extensive preparations are being made for VNY 2020 and the Visit Year Secretariat has corresponded with the state governments within the country and all the diplomatic missions abroad regarding the campaign. We have sent out the invitations to the tourism ministers,” he said on the occasion.

Stating that renowned foreign artists would also participate in the event, Minister Bhattarai called for a grand inauguration of VNY 2020 with the active participation of the federal, state and local governments as well as the private sector.

Visit Nepal Year 2020 will formally be inaugurated on January 1, 2020. Likewise, Minister Bhattarai shared that the inauguration programme will be organised at all foreign diplomatic missions of Nepal within the first week of January.

It is stated that the VNY 2020 inauguration programme will possibly take place at Dashrath Stadium in Kathmandu.
