Kailash Helicopter Services started by youth entrepreneurs, have imported a new helicopter.
The company imported a helicopter from French aircraft manufacturer Airbus, of the model S 350 B3 Series. The 300 million company intends to import another helicopter in the near future.
The helicopter came in from Singapore on Saturday. The process to obtain AOC flight permission for the helicopter has already started, informed the Managing Director, Pratap Jung Pandey.
Kailash Helicopter Services is operated by youth entrepreneurs including Captain Aashish Sherchan, Pratap Jung Pandey, Shree Ram K.C., Ishwari Paudel, Sunil Shrestha, Rajesh Kumar Pandit, C.N. Pandey, Shree Hari Kuike, etc. The group also has investments in the tourism and banking sectors. The company will use the helicopter for chartered flights, rescues, mountain flights, etc.
Lumbini Peace Marathon to take place on March 1
The Lumbini Peace Marathon is going to be held on March 1 in Lumbini. Organizers claim that 250 people from indigenous and foreign background are participating in the competition.
Players from Nepal, India, China, Australia, Korea, and Britain will participate in the competition. President of Lumbini Peace Marathon Mr. Vikram Pandey informed that the Lumbini Peace Marathon competition has been organized on Falgun Purnima because this is the day when Lord Gautam Buddha returned to his birthplace after getting enlightened.
There are three categories including full marathon (42-198km), and half marathon of 21 km and 7 km. The winner of full marathon will be awarded a medal and 100 thousand cash prize and given an award named as ‘Lumbini Ashok Peace Puraskar’. Similarly, the first runner-up and second runner-up will be awarded with 45,000 and 70,000 respectively. The prize for the second place is named as ‘Kapilvastu Huyen San Puraskar’ and the third place prize is named as ‘Mayadevi Garden Ulthan Puraskar’. Similarly, the winner, first runner-up and second runner-up of half Marathon will be awarded with the cash prize of Rs 50 thousand, 35 thousand and 25 thousand respectively.
The marathon will start from Kudan to Gotehawa, Kapilvastu,banganga, Tilaurakot, Niglihawa, Arorkot, Dohani and will finally end in Lumbini.

Three women mountaineers to scale Mount Everest
Three women mountaineers are set to scale the world’s highest peak Mount Everest this spring with the aim of promoting tourism and increasing women’s participation in the tourism and mountaineering sector of the country.A press conference organised by Tourism Journalist Association on Friday shared that an expedition team of three women climbers – led by Lakpa Yangjee Sherpa, along with Yangdi Sherpa and Pashang Lhamu Sherpa – is climbing the highest summit with the slogan of ‘Mountaineering for Women’s Self-reliance’.
On the occasion, Lakpa Yangjee said they would start ascending the Everest from April 7 and have targeted to reach the summit on May 18 if the weather conditions are supportive.
She shared that another important reason behind carrying out this expedition is to provide financial support to Dalit, single, and oppressed women who have returned home from foreign employment, along with attracting them toward tourism sector for income generation that would ultimately make them self-reliant.
Everest Hardware is providing necessary logistic support to the women mountaineering team who is climbing the highest peak through Ascent Himalayan Trek and Expedition Company.
The mountaineers hailing from Solukhumbu have been working in the field of mountaineering and tourism for a considerable amount of time.

CN Pandey Elected NATTA President
CN Pandey has been elected to the post of president of Nepal Association of Tour and Travels Agents (NATTA). At the election for the new executive committee held in Kathmandu on Friday, Pandey won by six votes. Pandey bagged 212 votes out of 420, while his rival Dipendra Kumar Sharma got only 206 votes.
Similarly, Achyut Guragain and Sangita Jirel have been elected first vice president and second vice president, respectively, while Ramesh Thapa has been elected general secretary.
Likewise, Sabita Bhattarai has been elected secretary, Ram Prashad Shrestha treasurer, and Surendra Bhattarai assistant treasurer.
Shudarshan Nepal, Debaki Gurung, Phuri Gyaljen Sherpa, Amrit Kumar Dhakal, Ramesh Poudel, Raju Dhakal, Inu Thapa, Gita Dhakal have been elected members of the executive committee. The committee will have tenure of two years.
NATTA is an umbrella organization of tour and travel agents that was established in 1966 in order to regulate the travel industry of the country.

Pokhara Street Festival set to Welcome New Year 2018
Pokhara, 20 December 2017: Restaurant and Bar Association of Nepal (REBAN) Pokhara chapter is set to host the 19th edition of Annual Pokhara Street prior to the English New Year 2018. The festival will start from December 28 to January 1, 2018.
The festive spirit will once again come alive when the streets of Lakeside will be decorated with lights, filled with the aroma of delicacy and tuned with the finest musical performance. With the main slogan ‘Eat on the street, Dance on the street, Enjoy on the street’, the festival will draw maximum number of visitors; both Nepali and foreigners.
According to the festival coordinator, Gopi Bhattarai, the festival will focus on food items, music and various cultural programs. Talking about the expectation from the program, he explained, “We are planning to make this event more successful and grand than previous years. We welcome guests from all over the country and the world to showcase the beautiful scenario of Lakeside. Also, we are working to make sure that the festival will provide fullest entertainment.”
Hotels and restaurants in Pokhara have started booking their spots for the food stalls. The opening ceremony will take place on the banks of the Fewa Lake.
Street festival in Lakeside has been the center of attraction among the visitors establishing itself as a culture of the city.
There will be multiple stages featuring different cultural dances, live performances of artists and comedians. Famous singers like Nabin K. Bhattarai, Asish Rana and Mantra band will be rocking the stage.

14 Chitwan Elephant Festival 2017
An elephant festival has kicked off in Sauraha of Chitwan with a view to boosting up local tourism.
The festival, aimed at prolonging stay of tourists in the town, is organised coinciding with Christmas and the English New Year, according to Regional Hotel Association, Chitwan, the event organizer.
