Chinese tourists see Nepal as a preferred destination

The Nepal Tourism Board participated in the 11th China Outbound Travel and Tourism Mart 2015 in Beijing from 14-16 April held in China National Agriculture Exhibition Center. The mart was one of the major travel exhibitions where buyers from all over the world come to lure outbound Chinese market. UK based Tarsus Inc organizes the fair.

NTB participated alongside four companies from Nepal. The three day fair saw a host of buyers thronging to Nepal stall to inquire about the attractions in Nepal. Companies from Nepal reported an encouraging sign for Nepal tourism in China.

COTTM showcased over 380 exhibitors from 65 countries. The show remains the best platform for China’s outbound tour operators and travel professionals to meet, discuss and contact upcoming season for their clients. The exhibition also featured seminars and workshops for the participating exhibitors to better understand China’s outbound tourism trends, future challenges, market intelligence and commercial opportunities.

China now is the number one outbound market in the world. Nepal of late has seen a surge in Chinese tourist arrival. Soft trekking, city tour and shopping top the list of activities for Chinese tourist in Nepal. Younger Chinese generations see Nepal as a preferred destination for adventure.
